The Lonely Man

He finished his cocktail infused with an unusual amount of vodka and started walking towards the main door of this local bar with a huge smile on his face.
His time on this place with a fancy all-white facade is bomb!
He was so drunk and it's obvious not only in the way he walks but also in how red his face is.
He started walking the street. His vision is blurry and shaky.
He decided to stop and sit on the sidewalk.
A cold wind blew into his pale east-Asian-looking face.
Slowly, his smiles faded.
He looked around and saw no one.
He is alone.
The happiness he felt earlier vanished in a snap, revealing how miserable and lonely his life really is.
He realized that all the people who admire him, all the compliments, cannot compensate for the loneliness he feels deep inside him for such a very long time.
It was heartbreaking he thought.
The man who constantly is the source of energy in the room has also the heaviest emotional baggage.
And one by one, like a pouring rain in a lonely abandoned place, his tears dropped.
It dropped like there was no tomorrow.
He felt pain in his chest up to his throat.
He is sobbing hard, a cry of grief for his happiness that is already gone and buried in a place, far from his consciousness, far from his senses.
He wants to be happy, so bad.
But, it seems like life's unfair way of treatment to human beings is only centered and focused on this lonely man's life.
He feels horrible.
It felt too painful that he started to cry loudly.
No one's around, no one will hear him, no one will know the truth behind the smiles of this charismatic, talkative, and sensible man.
No one.
The time has passed so fast.
It was 3 am already.
He started walking before he reaches a point where he can't stand for being too drunk, tired, and sleepy.
Finally, there were people around him.
And just like before, he was greeted with smiles and sometimes, winks.
He was even offered a free ride by a man which he immediately declined.
He just wants to be left alone.
He wants to savor the coldness and peacefulness of the night: elements that let him open up this hidden dark truth about himself.
It was these very few moments in his week where he can finally be true to himself.
The truth that he is not at all happy.
After a few minutes of commuting and a little bit of walking, he finally reached his home.
He entered the gate carefully as his family was already asleep.
He closed it, the same way he is closing the fact that he had a mental breakdown earlier.
Immediately disregarding the fact that he wasn't okay.
Robbing himself of a chance to resolve his deep hidden sadness and loneliness.
Finally, his short time of grieving has ended, but only for today.
